Bergheim Hiking Trail
Start: Bergheim resort camp, Magaliesberg
Finish: Bergheim resort
Duration: 8 km
Fitness: relatively fit, particularly because of the climb
Our tip: the climb to the top of the gorge can get tiring in the heat of the day; get an early start.

Bergheim trail has few directional markers. Either you do the hike with someone who knows the route, or you follow a general direction (the resort may be able to give you GPS co-ordinates).
Eagle Cove Hiking
Start: Kumbagana Game Park, close to Rustenburg
Finish: Kumbagana Game Park
Duration: 2 days, 18 km
Fitness: easy to moderate
Our tip: a pool at base camp makes cooling off afterwards that much easier

On the same road you would travel to reach Mountain Sanctuary Park, Kumbagana Game Park lies just before the Sparkling Waters Hotel (good to know as it is a perfect spot for a good cool drink, or tea and cake en route home).
